Nie wierzę， skończyłem。 To była długa lektura bardzo klasycznego podręcznika， który ma miliony stron tworzenia postaci i rzucania czarów。 Nie mam nic do klasycznych podręczników jako tako， ale definitywnie wolę mniej klasyczne systemy， gdzie są trzy zasady na krzyż， mechanika uproszczona albo jak w Wampirze podręcznik jest pisany tak， jakby Twój wampirzy stwórca opowiadał Ci o świecie。Nie mówię， że gra się źle （naprawdę fajnie！）， ale po prostu wolę trochę inne pisanie 😉

I am a D&D peripheral。 By that I mean， while I've sporadically seen and participated in gameplay over the last five years or so， I've always been in care of a more experienced Adventurer， and I've never been much of a "true nerd"。 That being said， monthly-or-so sessions of campaigning with my husband and cousins have gradually gotten me more comfortable with what appears to be a cross between a "a choose your adventure" novel and a board game。 On a side note， I'm so NOT surprised this was invent I am a D&D peripheral。 By that I mean， while I've sporadically seen and participated in gameplay over the last five years or so， I've always been in care of a more experienced Adventurer， and I've never been much of a "true nerd"。 That being said， monthly-or-so sessions of campaigning with my husband and cousins have gradually gotten me more comfortable with what appears to be a cross between a "a choose your adventure" novel and a board game。 On a side note， I'm so NOT surprised this was invented in MN/WI。 Nerds and long winters！Thoughts on this book: really simply explained， well done。 As a Christian， I'm not really comfortable with how a solid chunk of gameplay is channeling magic from pagan gods or demonic patrons， but as my present group is Christian we keep away from the more deep creeps so it hasn't been too much of an issue。 I really am starting to enjoy D&D， but the more I get into it the more conflicted I get。 Witchy-fiction meltdown 2。0？Apparently， 5E is a "reinvention" of D&D。 I knew my husband preferred 4E， but honestly this is all I have。 I have no frame of reference。 I did hear there is a 6th edition coming out， that has minor gameplay changes but apparently makes it easier for the DM。 Whatever man， I'm just here for the coin。First Character:Tiefling Rogue。 Not super memorable， somebody else basically put it together for me。Current Character: Half-Elf Barbarian named Orwin Greenleaf， aka "Man"。 Chaotic good， if only because his reasoning is so simple it sometimes causes more problems than it solves。 I created him to be easy to play and hard to kill， and it succeeded even better than I thought it would。 No spells， no cantrips， just brute strength and a room-temp IQ。Future Character:Definitely gonna be a Halfling， probably a rogue。 Ability to hide behind normal sized people？ Sure。 Reputation for no-nonsense， sensible solutions to our problems？ Absolutely。 Vicious mockery？ Yes please。 。。。more

I’d already played the game a number of times before reading the book， which is okay for the first sessions but it really put me on a distance with my party members。 So I’m happy that I’m now more up to speed with specific gameplay I didn’t fully understand before。 Nonetheless， some rules are quite poorly explained。 I guess all of it doesn’t make much sense until you’ve played at least once。 So: play D&D first， but don’t wait too long with reading the player’s handbook！

I've been into roleplaying games since I was very young， started out with 2nd edition back in the early 90s and as time went on I was in and out of D&D， mostly out with it being very hard to get groups going， as you get older。 Recently， however， I got back into it and although I owned the Player's Handbook for years now， I only used it as a reference book and had never sat down to read it cover to cover。 As I am now DMing， I decided that I should be more conversant with it and therefore gave it I've been into roleplaying games since I was very young， started out with 2nd edition back in the early 90s and as time went on I was in and out of D&D， mostly out with it being very hard to get groups going， as you get older。 Recently， however， I got back into it and although I owned the Player's Handbook for years now， I only used it as a reference book and had never sat down to read it cover to cover。 As I am now DMing， I decided that I should be more conversant with it and therefore gave it a go。Being a rulebook no one should look for it as a particularly entertaining or fascinating read， but if one judges it for what it is trying to do， set out rules in a clear and appealing way， it does that pretty much perfectly。 The book is divided in logical sections with a first part all about creating characters， moving on to game mechanics and then ending with an extensive list of spells and spell mechanics。 The book is also illustrated throughout with some great images that make it pretty appealing visual and a pleasure to leaf through it。 In terms of content this is a great improvement over the previous， 4th edition， of the game， reverting some of the worse rules invented for that game， which made many players continue playing 3。5 or leave D&D completely to go to systems like Pathfinder， and adding some new rules that emphasise roleplaying over dice rolling and are pretty fun as well as the revolutionary advantage and disadvantage system， that really made the game smoother。 。。。more

I expected to skim this in order to understand Critical Role。 I read it cover to cover， it’s been ages since I’ve had such fun！ D&D is a delicious adult version of Choose Your Own Adventure。 I’m caught up on Campaign Three， Vox Machina on Prime， and currently on episode 11 of Campaign Two: The Mighty Nein。 I would like to thank Ashley Johnson’s Fearne Calloway， I would not have even finished episode one if not for you。 Because of Fearne， I have a whole new world of entertainment。

The Players Handbook is essentially all you need to run a 5th edition game and although it can be quite dry at times， it is an important read for any new DM。
